This derelict and mostly collapsed home is along Progress Drive, at the small area of Timberlake, in Campbell County, Virginia.
There is no information to be found regarding this hovel. A chimney is still erect where the rest is completely collapsed around it. Glass bottles of black, brown and green litter the ground all around. Burnt out looking rusted tin cans are tossed all about.
The ‘chicken coop’ still stands even though the roof is busted downwards (as seen in photograph 1). Tin metal sheets have pieced together everything including : the former home exterior walls, the coop and the other animal pens.
There are metal signs used to make the animal pens. One is a bright red displaying rusting decay for Coca-Cola. It lines the alley into a collapsed room.
Another sign, helping hold up the walls of has a ton of farming products for animals including : Chick Starter, Pullet Maker, Egg Maker, Trip-L-Duty, Pig-Glo, Sweet Pak Pig Start, Pig Maker, Rabbit Family Ration, Rabbit Breeder Paks, Friskies, Calf Manna, Sucle, Optimil, Manna Male, Primer, Milk Flo, Super Foal, Super Horse, Trophy, Round Up, Beefys.
Maybe this was a small store that also sold the small animals and starter kits. Possibly a poor home, made from what could be found decades ago. They may have had some chickens and pigs or goats.
Liquor bottles, soda bottles and more ravaged the ground around. There was also a tent set up nearby. This area is almost completely secluded near a cellular tower.
Entrenched with bushes growing blackberry’s on either side, as one begins the walk down the path into this wooded area. It pops up out of nowhere, almost eerily as a reminder of a time when things were maybe not the best.
Plants have sprung up all around and small trees begin to overtake. Eventually this place will be swallowed by Mother Nature.
