This shell cottage / sea shell house was located along the coast of Freshwater West, Pembrokeshire, Wales.
The amazing detail of the shell roofing was done with plastic moulding. The house itself was filled with water containers so it would not move or blow away with any hard winds or weather. Nestled tightly among the grassy dunes of shoreline. It was a setting used in Part 1 and 2 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
For the time it did remain at its beachfront location it had security barriers around it and access was not allowed. The house was set as Bill and Fleur Weasley’s home and a safe house during the Second Wizarding War.
There is even a tombstone rock a fan put on the beach etched with “Here lies Dobby, a Free Elf.”
Unfortunately, the house was dismantled and removed. The beach itself as been a filming location for several shows and movies including; Robin Hood.
Where was the abandoned Harry Potter filming location located? You can find the empty beach with these coordinates. 51.660936, -5.062805.
