This house is at the south end of Black’s Beach, on the outskirts of La Jolla Farms and the Scripps Coastal Reserve, in La Jolla, outside of San Diego, California.
The real name of this circular getaway is Bell’s Pavilion. The home was designed by Dale Naegle to withstand everything from earthquakes, fires, windstorms, ocean waves, rock slides and people! The owner was none other than Sam Bell the heir to General Mills.
A tramway was built from the top of the cliffs down to home 300 feet below. The Pavilion offered a 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean and secluded beach.
This part of the beach is only accessible at low tide. The area is known mostly to surfers and sea creatures.
It is private property and though it is disused, inside access is forbidden.
