The Francis Lee Smith Mansion is on 45 Paintbrush Drive, the city of Cody, Park County, Wyoming.
Specked on the side of the 27 and a half mile Buffalo Bill Cody Scenic Byway, the Smith Mansion construction began in the very early 1980’s. Francis Smith was an architect and engineer and never ceased adding additions to the expanding home. Pine logs that were damaged from wildfire were gathered from Rattlesnake Mountain to create the support frame of the house.
A fantastic dream and love affair for Francis Smith who designed a home like no other.
Mr. Smith lived here until he fell from a ladder 12 feet in the air while working on the house in 1992. The Smith Mansion has been abandoned ever since and is even thought to be possibly haunted.
