Brahehus Mansion is right off of the E4 in the locality of Gränna, Jönköping Municipality, Jönköping County, province of Småland, Sweden.
The castle was built in the 1640’s for the Count Per Brahe the Younger. He held 3 castles by the time he died and that took place in 1680. He died at his castle in Uppland and this castle was abandoned shortly after. Though the roof is gone, but the cellar door remains, if has not been replaced over time. This a huge example of magnificent ruins. The castle offers sweeping views of lake Vättern. Possibly used for some time after the first abandonment, the castle suffered a fire in 1708 and the ruins are what remain.
