The NATO Headquarters are at the top of Monte Grappa in Veneto, Italy.
Established during the Cold War, which began sometime in the late 1950’s, caused this NATO Headquarters to be built. Situated among the snow capped peaks of the Grappa massif, the snow and other weather tumbles into this unprotected building. It is believed to have been vacated after the Cold War, so sometime during the 1990’s or possibly sooner. This NATO base now serves no master but Mount Grappa. It is neighborhood by the Sacrario Militare Del Monte Grappa, a military shrine and monumental burial site for soldiers killed during World War I.
The history and years of operation are hard to discover, if more is known please e-mail or leave a comment.
