The Stone Ruins of Dromore Castle in Ireland

Dromore Castle is off of Road N69 down and unamed road in the area of Dromore, County Limerick, the province of Munster, Ireland.

Dromore Castle built in 1870 for the Earl of Limerick in County Limerick, Ireland. It was designed in Gothic Revival style by Edward Godwin. After it was abandoned during the first World War it was sold in 1939. In the 1950’s it began to deteriorate when the roof was removed so as not to have taxes applied to the building and there was thought to demolish it.

This was the castle in the 1980’s movie ‘High Spirits‘.
